All the News We Hope to Print

There is a free 14-page Special Edition of the NY Times being given out on 34th Street today, in the shadow of the Empire State Building [if there weren't any clouds, that is: gonna rain soon.] The entry topic of my post is printed in the top L corner of the paper..

The headline says "IRAQ WAR ENDS / Troops to Return Immediately." Other cool bits are that there is now a maximum CEO wage that can't be more than 15 times the Federal hourly wage, Guantanamo Bay and a lot of other illegal CIA interrogation facilities around the world are closed, and as the UN unanimously passed a worldwide weapons ban, Bush gets indicted on charges of high treason for lying about Saddam's WMD's....

All the type fonts are the same as the real Times; the dateline is July 4, 2009.

So that is a happy thing on our cold streets today. I think it is a project of the Socialists, who are holding a regional conference at Columbia this weekend, some of my friends from UVM are taking part. Once the newshawkers give away their last copy, they scoot out of there fast .... maybe to avoid the cops or to avoid reality, heh. [Which is that a single bus or subway ride is going to start costing three bucks.]

And it's not even April 1 today. Unless you live at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and are in bed with the Saudis.

Lovely headlines! I'd be more than thrilled if Bush was finally called out. We can only hope!

LOL at your comment about avoiding reality. So right on.

I am so in need of a visit. I miss New York. I should be visiting over winter break (December), but due to the economy I don't think my family can afford me a ticket. *crosses fingers* Maybe luck will be on my side! ^^

Ooooo New York is waiting and ready when you are! ... but if you wait too long and do the Metro instead of taxis, looks like it really will go up 50% GAAAAH

Wow. I would have loved to have one of those.

Better that it were all true, too. :)
