a perfect tapestry photo six: site overview

This is how the whole place looked, zooming out. That's a mezuzah on the L side, in remembrance of the one Anna proudly pointed out to me next to her door to her room: mine is larger so it can hold some earth and some straw from this site. A mezuzah is loaded with religious significance in Jewish tradition, it's in memory of the warning painted in lamb's blood outside Jewish doorways the night the Angel of Death and her assistant angels flew around killing Egyptians all over the place, asking her to Pass Over their homes and spare them --- a ceremony revered today as Passover, millennia later. There's a solid silver Star of David across the centre of the ribbon. Tea bottle, cap from Boston, Canon Digital Rebel XSi case, my Druze carrybag, Evergreen College notebook from last April, tarp. That was all stuff that I packed out with me.

There was a fifth pebble too: from the Housing Community Center [HCC] building on the Evergreen campus, where we went to check her mail and go food and scarf shopping. I took this pebble and split it at Christ Church: one part is in the mezuzah and the other part is now at The Lachan School Anna Rosenfeld Memorial, her alternative high school in Efrat where she achieved so much and started her school journeys to America.

Thank you for explaining this memorial -- now I know what you meant when you did everything.

I think it's absolutely beautiful, and very special the personal way you remembered her. I think she would very much have liked to be remembered this way, and probably appreciated what you did a whole lot.

Yes. Exactly what she whispered in my ear. Inner ear.
She picked out the site in the first place.

Now you *do* realize that it just wasn't only MY memorial....it was for lots of us. You were there too. Of course.
