LUST and Liefe

Well, she had a little more to her costume than rosepetals and you can't see her blonde hair and bouncy ponytail. And she forgot my dessert for awhile but that was okay.

And Liefe means "dear" in English, she explained: but I'm sure that was just her stage name.
Can you imagine saying dear Dear?

Anyway, this was printed on the bottom of the menu in Dutch and English: language lesson [if you don't like one side, you can just turn them ... uhm ... IT over]. They gave three meanings for the name of their restaurant {the first two don't count, you know them anyway.} "3. zinnelyk m.n. sexuelle begeerte" [no period]

In case there was any doubt. And no, I am not making any of this up.

Since only one or two of you is able to understand Dutch, here it is in English:

"3. intense or unrestrained sexual craving without a period. "

Well, well. Missingnothing would have had a blast. Especially since the lights were draped in what the USA would call Whorehouse Modern design style. Black see-through mesh shades around ruby teardrop crystals dangling seductively from their jeweled chains in chandeliers with flame lamps screwed into their crimson holders. On dimmers, too. Lighting designers' dreams.

I wonder if the eight-year-old girl who came in with her parents has had English lessons yet. O wait, this is Holland and they're Dutch, so .... when I glanced over at them, her parents had gotten out some kind of Star Wars Robot Puppet game for her and they were hiding the menus.

Anyway, back to Liefe. I guess you could say she was pretty unrestrained, all right.

Her dad is the Production Manager for Theater de Vest in Alkmaar, about an hour from here. She gets free tix. A pro touring company of Fame, The Musical, is closing this weekend. Off she comes .... er, goes. With her girlfriend. That's okay too: Liefe is not eight years old. Even though she forgot my dessert. She was prob thinking of her own this weekend?

So I gave her a big tip. Hers are not very big. She was startled and happy. I told them to have a good time. [Them = the lovers, not the tips.]

O yeah the food was very excellently fine also. Fish filets imported from somewhere tasty [not these canals.] Then she sold me her Special Dessert.

Lest you get the wrong idea, it was frosted chocolate pie with warmed strawberry creamies and a big raspberry floating on some milky sauce that is not translatable. You can imagine what she .... erm, IT ... tasted like on my tongue. I buckled on some restraint and let it trickle down my throat instead of just gobbling it up like some Okie from Muskogee.

I just worry about the kids a little. Do they even know that LUST is a four-letter word? Like ... FAME ?? roflmao

Liefe promised that if I came back Monday she would tell me how all her raspberries were.

How come I make so many friends around here?

You know about extended theatre families. Don't you?

Actually it now develops that Liefe's Dessert has given me indigestion. My tummy is frowning at her, regardless of how the rest of me is reacting to her [NOT frowning lol]

That's okay. I'll be recovered by Monday and I will let her make it up to me then. Afterwards .... we will talk more about theatre.
