vive la Francoise!!

Breakfast. Last one in Haifa this morning. Down the coast to Tel-Aviv.

Hostess seats me to two very cool women from Rome. They had rescued a little black kitty from inside the hood of a parked car, the hotel is going to take care of her.

Then here comes our fourth. Lots of freckles, wide smile, curly blonde hair.

Easy to start a convo, everyone asks the same thing, "Where are you from?"

She's from Paris. Studied at the University of Rennes. On a solo tour atm.

Art history = major.

We talk excitedly about museums in Amsterdam and how Rembrandt told the people he didn't like where to put it. And we babbled about Vermeer. And Gaugin. And Frans Hals.

The values of Brad's liberal arts education. I mean, he can talk about Girl With A Pearl Earring while [kind-of-politely] staring at the same time. Our eyes match. Blue.

She gets up to leave, excuses herself. Going up the coast [GAAAH wrong way] To Akko [= Acre.]

Me: What's your name?
She: [tells me in French.]
Me: WHAT??

[you know what the answer is.]

She: It's Anne. But in France we say ahn - a.
Me: [Big smile.]
She: We pronounce the last letter.
Me: Yes. I know. Here, too.
She: {Big smile.] Bonjour !!

No, I did NOT make one bit of this up.

I don't have to.

Breakfast that lasts forever.

Blessings Be.

Kitties like car engines because they're warm. We almost lost one to our neighbor's truck. I was walking by it, heard this weird meow, and then something dark drops from the engine. It was Fudge, covered with oil, and she was so grateful to be shampooed, even though cats normally despise water. (Yes, I named a cat Fudge.) *grin*

Fudge, great! I got to meet ours when the hotel staff brought her down from the room. Very skinny, very pitch black, teenytiny, very scared, big yellow eyes, BIG claws, hoped that the hotel clerk would not need a chest transfusion soonish.

Liking a car engine in this part of the world has nothing at all to do with WARM omg. If anything, it was cool and parked overnight and looked dark and safe.....

YAY for rescuers!

Huh, you're right -- never thought of that.

Hope the kitty is okay!
