filtered from her nipples

After a baby
is pulled away
from her wet nurse,
she quickly forgets
what she remembered
and begins to eat solid food,
she quickly grows.

Seeds feed awhile
underground
then they lift themselves up
toward the silence of the sun.

So you curl your tongue
to taste and suck the light
filtered from her nipples to your sunbeam.
As you work your way toward wisdom
the swaddling falls away:
no division of your skin from the Breath.

Move your eyes across the night sky
with those nameless lights.
They are present in their silence,
we are present in ours.

In all this silence, bearing gifts
repeated and revealed:
in all your twilights,
watch your skies breed.
