So I have now taken my first digipics. Still lifes. What's more, dled them to my laptop and even edited one.

The whole screen on the EOS lighted up in red and I thought it hated me. Where have I sinned?

But it was just that you have to push the shutter button ALL the way down, not just halfway. I was being too gentle with her. Imagine. Didn't realize she had more than one hot button.

Then there were all these reassuring clicks.

This all will seem uttlerly stupidly dorky to you who have been taking pictures since you were three. But I've only had my newest toy for a couple of weeks.

I'm still afraid of her but we *are* making friends. Slowly.

This is a ton of fun. May I suggest using Flickr to store/sort your photos as a backup to your computer? If your photography habit ends up like mine, you will quickly run out of space, even on a 60GB drive....and there are only so many CDs/DVDs I'm willing to burn for storage. They also begin to be a problem.

I did this for three years without using an online service, but in the past couple of months Flickr has transformed my digi-pic lifestyle :-)

Yay, Alex, now I'm gonna have a 'digi-pic lifestyle!!'
Me on Flickr, omg. I also think LJ has some kind of storage site, too. This "less than 10 public" note on my Profile page, methinks.

I think mine is 180 GB, something way-out-there like that.
Windows Vista is a space hog, though.

Took lots more pictures yesterday, will post about that soonish, finding out a lot more about which buttons do what, on this thing. It really is a micro-computer disguised as a Digital Rebel, I'm convinced. It's plugged into one of my USB ports right now, in fact. Good thing the lens cap is on or it would be taking pictures of you in the middle of the night!! ... Auto-operation is wondrous and a bit scary.

I think she likes me now. Shooting in the ceramics studio yesterday, the little flash cover / hood thingie popped up and hit me in the nose [because she needed to use flash assistance {low light, stupid}.] I took it as a love tap.

All nine of the little bullseyes in the display turn angry red when she's not happy. Something like other grrls I know, come to think of it.
