I think Kala is keeping me up and inspiring me. She's not the only one who posts lyrics, of course.

Big bearhug clinch or not. She tracks bears, you know. With her running shoes on :)

"You've got your mother in a whirl:
she's not sure if you're a boy or a girl.
Hey babe your hair's a sight,
hey babe let's stay out tonight
you like me and I like it all
you like bands when they're playing hard
you want more and you want it fast
Rebel, Rebel, you've torn your dress
Rebel, Rebel, your arms are a mess
Rebel, Rebel, how could they know --
Hot Tramp, I love you so!
As they poured you out of the oxygen tent
you asked for the latest party:
crawlin' down the alley on your hands and knees
I'm sure you're not protected.
Come out of the garden, baby,
you'll catch your death in the fog.
They call you the Diamond Dog.
I'll keep a Friend serene ...
O baby, come unto me.

Well, she's come, been, and gone.

There's gonna be sorrow,
try and wake up tomorrow.

This ain't rock 'n' roll, it's genocide.

I know
It's only rock 'n' roll,
But I like it, like it, yes I do."

Bowie declared he was bi in 1971. He's still going strong. So is Mick.
They've come, been, and are staying. Timeless words.

It's not exactly Nightwish, but then ......

I was wondering if you like Tori Amos. I mean, I think that if you know survivors (and given the fact that you were Anna's friend) you must have listened to at least some of her songs. I was just reading this entry and thought that I should ask, you look like the kind of person who's really enjoy and appreciate Tori.

Absolutely, Lois, I do. Have for a long time.......Little Earthquakes. Man and a Gun. Barbados.
Great lyrics and a great artist-performer....it especially moves me how she converts personal tragedy to art and to helping others. Just like Anna did, and was going to expand in doing.

There's a lot more to her than that, of course. To both of them.
I also like her graphics. Such as the shot of her piano on fire in the gas station <3...

I think she inspires new generations of grrls, all the time.

What she did in memory of Kiota that first week was more than inspiring. It was transcendent and eternal, and a copy of it is my screensaver and another copy is in her home in Israel.

They call *them* the diamond dogs - it's a warning against the bright young things and the party lifestyle and how newbies are vulnerable. Sorry, had to speak, I'm a Bowie freak from way back.

That said, I *love* your "come, been, and are staying" adaptation :-)

Yeahhh ... I edited. Lots of them didn't heed the warning, many were in his audiences!

Wrote parts of both of these into my play on anorexia.... along with Tom Petty.

Once Mick was quoted as saying, "What! I can't imagine singing 'I Can't Get No Satisfaction' when I'm fifty!" And time, and his passion, proved how wrong he was :)

I'd consider myself a dead weight long before I'd consider myself inspiring. It's not me who's inspiring, it's the song artists. Like you've said before, it's amazing how song artists can connect with their audience and tap into such deep feelings.

I wouldn't consider you a dead anything.
And it's not only just about song lyrics.

It's not just *that* you're a survivor, it's *how* you're doing that.

You're inspiring meeee, anyway :)
