right on the stage

After much of the night with the Stones, parallels echo loudly.
Angela is the name of Keith's daughter, a baby in 1973, when he used her name. Angela is, of course, related to the word 'angel'.

Adapted and edited.

When will those clouds all disappear?
Where will it lead us from here?
Let me whisper in your ear:
Ain't it time we said goodbye?
You can't say we never tried;
Remember all the nights we cried
All the dreams we held so close
All seemed to go up in smoke,
Let me whisper in your ear.
I hate that sadness in your eyes,
Ev'rywhere I look I see your eyes,
Come on, Lady, dry your eyes:
Ain't it good to be alive?

If I could stick my pen in my heart
And spill it all over the stage,
Would it satisfy ya, would it slide on by ya,
Would it help to ease the pain, ease your brain?
If I could stick a knife in my heart:
Suicide right on the stage,
Would it be enough for your teenage lust?
Would it help to ease the pain, ease your brain?

Where will it lead us from here?

Well, I know, it's only rock and roll, but I like it, I like it, yes I do.
