April 18, 2008

Today is April 18, 2011. This morning was the third anniversary of Ki's interment memorial service, which was held at Cfar Etzion cemetery in Israel.
Tonight is the first evening of Passover. Just as in 2008.
Special foods will be eaten at many an evening meal, the Seder, in commemoration.

Candles, perhaps like the ones in the background of the icon, will be lighted.
In celebration. In memoriam.

Passover is a celebration of independence, of freedom. Freedom from enslavement to pain, among a lot of other freedoms.

Freedom from enslavement to pain. So that fits Ki also.

And although any candles which we have here will eventually use up their fuel, there will be others near at hand. And the Light will go on without end.

Even when it happens that there is no longer any wax nor oil to drive it, to drive the Light.

As will Love.

It happens to be an afternoon filled with beauty and warmth here in den Haag, in Holland. Cloudless, and the warmest so far this season, actually hot in the sun, and gentle breezes.

May your day be gentle with blessings, and all your sorrows be melted in the Light.

I do know. She speaks to you still as she does all of us that knew her. THAT is the light that never goes out

I love Ki. I hope she knows. She was so beautiful.

I'm going to light a candle after I get home tonight.

Also, thank you for the email, Brad. As soon as I get enough time around an Internet connection, it will be going up on the memorial journal.

I'm sure she knew it then, just like I'm sure she still does now.

Have some more stuff for you that I'll also email later today. And, for me, it's still another honor for you to post a contribution in her new memorial.
