a perfect tapestry photo five: restoration

The ceremony completed, I packed earth back down over the pebbles and spread the straw back where I had moved it aside. Restored the site to exactly how it had looked at the beginning.

Picked everything up --- cloth, tarp, bags, jewelry --- and picked my way carefully back down the hill, away from the tracks toward the street. It was about 1:25 after I'd started with the first prayer, and it was HOT as you would expect from 95 degrees F, and as I would expect with some 400+ of you with me.

And there too, beneath the straw.

The sun dappled the whole hill but there was not a single breath of a breeze. It was like we all were holding our breaths in reverence.
